Anyone have any information on the properties/charateristics of SPS wide base sign posts?
I am particularly interested in the Bending moment capacities, EI values and Shear force capcities so that I can use them for design?
Any help would be much appreciated, Thank you.

SimonMorgan
August 2015

Hi Tony. For the door section, which is often the critical one, we had to derive these properties ourselves for our software. At other positions the properties are the same as for the equivalent parallel steel post.

So if SPS cannot provide this data, perhaps it is time to invest in Buchanan Computing's SignLoad Professional software (only £500 + VAT) that tests all 3 critical sections for you for any sign in one go.

Shameless promotion over!
