I'm working my way through a load of footpath network signs and the info I've been given lists three destinations on one particular sign plate, but lists the first distance as 300 yds and the remaining two in miles.

Is it the done thing to mix distance types on the same sign?

Given that the largest of the mileages is 1 3/4 and that there are several other signs on the network that will pick up these destinations and give appropriate distances, the simplest option would be to omit them on this particular sign but I'm open to comments and suggestions.

Joe, Fig 14-2 of TSM Chapter 7 shows that this can be done and how to do it.
Distances in yards (abbreviated to "yds") have their digits aligned in columns, and so do distances in miles (each followed by "m"). Then the mileages block in centred under the yards one.
