Okay - complicated Question / Comment.

Diag 958 (Start of bus lane) allows all the symbols apart from the bus to be removed.... 959B (bus lane "repeater") doesn't - it has to have the Bus and Cycle Symbol. So what about if I have a truly bus only lane (cycle route runs parallel)

DfT advised that it's correct and I will need to get Authorization for variation to 959B!

Any comments / Observations - Have I got it wrong?

Thanks

SimonMorgan
January 14 2019

Hi Mike

That's correct. As it is fairly rare, they don't want authorities by mistake to exclude cycles from bus lanes, so they insist on authorising the regulatory signs for this. The advance sign (958) they deem "informatory" and they trust authorities to make it consistent with the regulatory sign.
