Is anyone aware of how rainbow crossings are being permitted (it does not appear that there are any special authorisations on the DfT site)?

Reply by Bryn Buck 31st August 2021

Most local authorities seem to be using the vague wordings in guidance regarding surfacing treatments below the legally required Section 25 road markings. I’m not wholly convinced it will end without tears but the DfT doesn’t seem to be rushing to say “do not do this” so presumably it’s in the grey turn a blind eye area of DfT’s purview?
