I work for the Institute of Highway Engineers who provide the course. Is there anything in particular you would like to know about the certificate or diploma or were you just looking for some feedback? It has actually been updated to the Professional Certificate/Diploma in Traffic Signing and Road Markings.

A bit of both really. I was wondering if there was a difference between the certificate and the diploma (and if one was a higher qualification than the other) and then how they fit in to IEng and/or CEng. I was reading the brief and the descriptions seemed fairly similar.

Hi Lauren,

Yes, there is a difference between Certificate and Diploma. The Professional Certificate is equivalent to a national Qualifications and Credit Framework Level 3 qualification. The Professional Diploma is at a higher level and is considered equivalent to a QCF Level 5/6 qualification.

The IHE Professional Diploma can be used as the basis for a Personalised Report or a Further Learning report so can help you achieve the required academic base for IEng Professional Registration with the Engineering Council.
