Hello, just wondering what other authorities are doing in respect to low cost CCTV options at Junctions. I am looking for a cheap 3/4G solution for minor junctions. If anyone has experience and can suggest would be much appreciated.

Hi,

In Notts we use Axis M5525-E cameras, they're full PTZ and we mount them atop of std. signal poles using a special bracket made by TRP products. They're POE and fed back to the controller via a CAT 5 cable. At the controller we then use a suitable router for the Comms, this could be either a 4G or a VDSL router. It usually shares the same Comms as the controller would to communicate with UTC but on a different VPN.

Hope this Helps

Rob

Hi
I'm Brian from Now Wireless. We supply all the pieces for CCTV on traffic Lights and the display of the images if required. We can provide Axis but generally supply cameras that are half the price and have AI functions built in, which allow a wide range of features at no extra cost. (Not HKVISION)
Let me know if you wish more information, but our website, www.nowwireless.com, lists the cameras and prices. We are on several frameworks, and all traffic suppliers can install our equipment. The data can be available on our Senseview Platform, which has an API supported by UTMC and City Management suppliers.

We also supply 4G/5G and Mesh networks.
Sorry this sounds like a sales pitch, but we supply around 50 Councils with Wireless networks, Air Quality, IoT, Bluetooth, AI and CCTV
I hope this is useful
Brian@nowwireless.com
.

Telent offer a relatively basic CCTV function within their Telent Optima hosted remote monitoring system. As for low cost - well it's cheaper than the old Siemens Sistore AX / CX with Pelco PTZ system that Siemens used to offer - but lacks recording and PTZ as far as I know - I'm not sure if those features are in development or not. Although sometimes PTZ would be useful, if you have enough coverage of cameras on site and you can live without it. Bonus is as an end user you can view it through your web browser without having to get any specialist software.

There wasalso a self contained 3G or 4G PTZ unit that can be strapped to lamp columns/signal columns. WCCTV (Wireless CCTV) was a supplier of this kit (there were others I believe) and it did the job but can't say I was a fan of the software; mind you that was a decade or so ago and I expect things have moved on a fair bit.

SSL (now costain) did offer a top of the range system for taking CCTV feeds from various sources but I don't know if they still offer that.
